On Friday night in the Widnes & District Darts League, the Mill Brow SC RTB League continued with Round 20 being played.

The Mill Brow SC at home to Halton Stadium conceded the first game to the Stadium’s Alan Magee (14 darts). Paul Linger then levelled for the Brow, only to see Joe Kelly take the Stadium ahead. The Brow came back to level through their opening pair, Dave Powell & Ray Linger (19 darts), but the Stadium were going ahead, with two in a row from, Ste Barrow & Tony Jackson and Joe Kelly & Mike Callaghan, edging them ever closer to the winning line. The Brow were still in with a chance as Dave Powell took the next game (14 darts) but their luck ran out as the Stadium’s) Ste Barrow and John Bowles took the remaining two games and the match.

The Millfield at home to Widnes Bowling Club saw the Bowler’s Tommy Robertson take the first game. Alan Sutton then levelled for the Millfield, followed by a further win from Billy Fox (16 darts). Parity was restored as the Millfield’s opening pair Tommy Robertson & Alex McGill took the next game. They had started a rally, which saw a further four wins come from Alan Clark & Mark Smith, Joe Batty & Scott Grady and back in the singles Dave Gerrard and Scott Grady. It was little consolation for the Millfield as Chris Hall took the final game, but not the match.

The Cricketers Arms at home to Farnworth SC (No Result Received)

Widnes Cricket Club at home to the Ball took the first two games through Rob Morris and Danny Mellor (8 darts). Peter Kneale then recovered a point for the Ball. However, the Cricket Club were still on a roll as they took the opening pairs game through, Danny Mellor & Adam Mellor. It had looked good for the Cricket Club, but that was about to change as the Ball stormed ahead, taking the remaining five games and the match through, Karl Whitfield & James Holden (10 darts), John Barber & Peter Jerram, John Barber, Karl Whitfield and Danny Bishop.

Widnes Bowling Club B at home to Simms Cross Institute took the first game through Dave Cowan. Ray Dutton then levelled for the Stute. A further three wins from the Stute’s Andy Abbott, Paul Batty & Glyn Owen and Dave Evans & Tony Green gave the Stute a good lead. The Bowler added another win to their score through, Dave Batty & Mike Ruane, but it was to be Simms Cross institutes night, as Brian Dutton gave them the vital fifth point. Dave Pickles took the penultimate game for the Bowler, whilst Glyn Owen added the final game to the Stutes already winning tally.

The Goldmine at home to the Mersey Hotel, took the points as the Mersey failed to field a team.
